Meet Sean Petersen
Looking back, my life has all been about speaking.
As a high schooler, I loved and excelled at Debate and wanted to speak my mind to all those who would listen. In college I loved to do class presentations and present information to others .For seven years after college I was an Officer of the Court in Kansas and Missouri, testifying in open court multiple times a week on probationer and parolees under oath while also working with families, community members, and schools as a Probation and Parole officer for both juvenile and adult offenders.
From there, I went back to school and became a teacher and coach who worked daily with my voice and to help grow and maintain a Debate and Forensics program where I taught others for 13 years to speak and have their voices heard.
In total I have been speaking professionally for over 20 years. I have coached, advised, and consulted with hundreds of students and adults across Missouri and Arkansas.
During his time as a competitive Speech and Debate Coach he was part of the NSDA competitive speaking circuit and I helped produce over two dozen State Champions in differing events and over a dozen National Qualifiers to the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament. He attended, judged, and advised at five National Tournaments.
I love working with speakers who initially might find it hard to speak in front of others and have a hard time finding their persuasive voice. But I am willing to work with anyone at any skill level, be it someone who has to give a Best Man or Maid of Honor speech to a high-level executive giving a detailed sales pitch for an international corporation. Speaking is something that we do everyday, but mindful focused speaking takes coaching, insight, and practice to do well. I am ready to help anyone who wants to be a better speaker and gain the skills it takes to advance in their selected field, profession, or endeavor.
Goals and Mission
In a modern world that is increasingly isolated, being able to effectively speak and convey ideas, and deliver those ideas and visions confidently is becoming a rare skill. It is something that needs to be taught and practiced for everyone from students to CEOs, but a skill that gets very little attention during our formative years of education and even less later in life. Working on public speaking skills and learning how to deliver an effective speech/argument/salespitch is something that pays surprising dividends in life, the first of which is confidence and assertiveness.
PC³ is founded on the idea that speaking is a skill that everyone needs and can be better at given you know and master the skills for how to change your voice to the proper situation that aligns with the goal you are pursuing. The simple fact is that we as a species fear being wrong and appearing foolish and these fears meet in Public Speaking. How do we get past these fears? By practicing, by working with others, and with guidance.
Sean Petersen and PC³ are dedicated to working with people to increase their ability to speak, polish their presentations, get ready for that important interview, hitting just the right angle for that debate case or forensics piece, or prepare to be as convincing as possible in their delivery as possible. By examining the basics of speech and tooling your voice to your audience we will get you to your goal and able to present a confident and professional grade speech that will leave the audience speechless.
